Coaches please read the 2007-08 Program Guide in its entirety it contains many changes to the rules that apply to all teams. Be aware of all changes so that your team does not suffer any penalties.
On-line registration is NOW available. You must register your team by the January 31st deadline. We are pleased to announce we have been able to keep the cost per team (Div I - IV) to $30 again this year AND Primary teams to $20. There is a late fee of $15 for teams who sign up after the deadline. The deadline is set to allow time to put together a schedule. PLEASE sign your team up as soon as you know who your members are, that helps us put together judging teams and the schedule.
Each team is required to provide a two-hour volunteer for the day of the tournament. A judge has been requested from each membership. Please coordinate with the other teams from your school to provide a judge that knows they will not be able to watch your their teams performance.
International Opportunities
We are looking for teams who are interested in being "buddy" teams for international teams at World as well as home stay teams/families for our international teams. You do not have to have a team attending World Finals to participate as a home stay family.
We would also like to host a team for the California State Finals and are looking for a team willing to host a home stay for this team. California participated in 2006 in the European Festival sending two teams to Poland. Last year we sent one team to Germany for the European Festival. We would like to continue with this exchange sending one team this year to the European Festival which will be held in Hungary in 2008. We have requested an invitation but have not received information yet. This will delay our decision on what team/if any will be sent to Hungary to represent California.
Coaches please make your teams and their families aware of these upcoming possibilities to enhance the Odyssey of the Mind experience. Details will be posted as they are received. You can contact Paula Privitt for further information if you are interested. A decision will be made for the European Festival early November to allow the team time to raise funds to travel to Europe.
